Spiritual Insights
The Order of St. Augustine, or Augustinian Order, fundamentally based upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and later of Aurelius Augustine, the Bishop of Hippo (354 - 430 A.D.), was founded to live and promote the spirit of community as lived by the first Christian communities (Acts of the Apostles 4, 32-35).
More about the Order:

The Augustinian nuns, officially known as the Eremitical Nuns of Saint Augustine, are part of the great family of the Order of Saint Augustine (OSA), living out a tradition that stretches back over sixteen centuries. Their way of life is inspired by Saint Augustine himself, who founded a “Monastery of the Servants of God” with his own sister as the first Prioress. From those early days to the present, the Augustinian nuns have continued to live in the spirit of his teaching: one heart and one soul, journeying together toward God.
The Monastery
The Augustinian Family
The Federation of Augustinian Monasteries in Italy, the first of its kind among all Orders in the country, was born from an almost unanimous response to the call for unity. Its first Federal Chapter, held from October 5–10, 1953, at the Hospice of St. Anne in the Vatican, was marked by deep joy and fraternal communion. Despite differences—even in religious habits—the participating Mothers felt a profound bond as sisters, united by the desire to grow together in mutual support and shared spiritual life.

More on the Monastery:
In the year 2000, the Monastery of Santa Croce extended the contemplative charism of St. Augustine to the Philippines, marking this new mission with the laying of its cornerstone. The monastery was later solemnly consecrated on May 1, 2003. This foundation became a reality through the heartfelt invitation of the late Most Rev. Jesus Y. Varela, DD., Bishop of the Diocese of Sorsogon, who welcomed the Augustinian nuns to bring their life of prayer and contemplation to his flock.
